You told us that the Artist Alley needed change, and we have heard you. The Toronto Game Expo team has been hard at work shaping Artist Alley into a space that truly celebrates originality and creator-made work. With our new Artist Alley policies in place, there will now be zero tolerance for AI and stolen artwork.
A Panel Built by Artists, for Artists
To make sure this process stays fair and thoughtful, we assembled a panel of seven veteran artists who have previously exhibited at TGE. Every Artist Alley submission is reviewed by more than 1 artist on the panel to ensure that we protect the spirit of Artist Alley.
What We’re Looking For
So far, we’ve vetted over 100 applications, with each evaluated on the following criteria across their socials and application:
Originality and style consistency
No signs of AI-generated or traced artwork
Public presence or other authenticity concerns
No second-hand/ garage sale items
Some kind of proof that they made their art
Detailed examples of types of art they bring
These guidelines help us ensure Artist Alley remains a place for genuine, creator-driven art, and a great experience for attendees.
Haven’t Applied Yet? There’s Still Time
If you’re an artist interested in showcasing your work, you can still apply. The updated application form now includes prompts to provide proof for each of these points, making the process smoother for everyone involved.
Staying Connected
As we get closer to the event, we’ll continue sharing updates, artist features, and shoutouts on Instagram. And if you have feedback on how we can improve the TGE experience for artists, we’d love to hear it.Email us at our new email: info@torontogameexpo.ca
The Toronto Game Expo community is something special, and we’re grateful to be building this space alongside all of you. Here’s to another year of inspiring, original art lighting up Artist Alley.
