About the Classic Tetris World Championship
The Classic Tetris World Championship began in 2010, when the first-ever Classic Tetris World Champion was crowned. The event was later featured in the documentary Ecstasy of Order, which brought global attention to the competitive Classic Tetris scene.
Now in its 16th year, CTWC has grown from a grassroots tournament into a global esports phenomenon, drawing millions of viewers across YouTube and Twitch.
Each year, CTWC hosts 25–30 live events worldwide, including four major tournaments and its flagship World Championship. In addition to in-person events, the organization produces weekly online programming, keeping its community engaged year-round.
CTWC brings together elite competitors while maintaining a family-friendly, inclusive environment that welcomes fans of all ages. Generations of players and spectators continue to celebrate one of the most iconic video games of all time.
We look forward to welcoming CTWC to Toronto Game Expo and showcasing the intensity, precision, and legacy of Classic Tetris competition live on the show floor.
