I’m so excited to be a special guest at the Toronto Game Expo this year! As a game designer and immersive experience creator, I love seeing how games bring people together, challenge our minds, and transport us into new worlds.
I attended the most recent Toronto Game Expo and had an absolute blast! Leading up to the event I will be doing a giveaway and a 10 day countdown so make sure to follow @laura_alien_princess on IG to get sneak peaks and maybe even win tickets! In this article I will go over the top 3 things I am most excited for!
1. Playing Games!
At the last event I got to checkout @pixelparadisearcade and @changelinggaming. Pixel Paradise Arcade was a blast from the past and had all my favourite retro arcade games set up to play for free (no need to save up your quarters!). I hadn't played Donkey Kong in YEARS. Changeling Gaming was another play station experience but this a stop to learn how to play new boardgames! The game I chose to learn was Lanterns: The Harvest Festival, which is a game where you decorate a lake with floating lanterns. Although I love gaming it is often hard to find the time for it with work and other adult commitments, so I am looking forward to relaxing and playing!
2. Buying Art!
Artist Alley blew me away at the last event and as a result, I have high expectations for this one. I was happy to see @chubcats and @ayalilyart are expected to return! I love collecting original art and have some amazing posters on my walls but I think it is time for something new. I plan to redecorate my whole place is 2025 and Toronto Game Expo is the perfect place start!
3. Meeting Other Special Guests!
I was so busy taking it all in at the last event (if it's your first time attending be ready for decision paralysis about where to start haha), that I completely missed the special guests section. I was disappointed I missed the opportunity to connect with other game lovers and influencers in Toronto. Some highlights for the upcoming event include Matthew G Taylor from Resident Evil, Reed Shannon from Arcane and a variety of stellar cosplay guests. As someone who is still relatively new to cosplay, I look forward to getting tips and tricks from these experienced cosplayers!
